Hermes Desktop

Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-hosted AI agent made by Nous Research. It’s for people who want one assistant that stays consistent over time, can act through common chat tools, and can be kept under their own control.

It supports both a desktop app and a gateway approach for where your agent can show up and work:

• Persistent memory: it keeps context across sessions and builds skills tied to your ongoing projects.
• Messaging gateway: connect to platforms like Telegram, Discord, Slack, plus WhatsApp, Signal, Email, and CLI.
• Focused scheduling: use natural language to set up unattended tasks like reports, backups, and briefings.
• Delegation with subagents: create isolated subagents with their own conversations, terminals, and Python RPC scripts.
• Search and web actions: includes web search, browser automation, vision, image generation, text-to-speech, and multi-model reasoning.
• Sandboxed backends: run workloads using local execution or container/remote backends (including Docker, SSH, Singularity, Modal).
